The Ministry of Finance has published updated statistics on the state debt of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
Since the beginning of 2019, the total national debt has increased by $4.5 billion or 30.9 percent, and as of October 1, 2019, the balance of borrowings raised on behalf of the government of the Republic of Uzbekistan or under its guarantee amounted to $19.2 billion or 33.6 percent of the gross domestic product (GDP).

"These obligations are not direct borrowings of the government of Uzbekistan, but reflect borrowed funds, mainly from the State Development Bank of China and the Export-import Bank of China," the Ministry stressed.
The second place is occupied by Japan ($1.8 billion), third South Korea ($560 million). France is placed fourth ($345.8 million) and Germany fifths ($286.5 million).
