Uzbekistan bans carrying cold weapons in public places

The legislators of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis proposed an amendment on the illegal knife carrying in public places. Thus, the law imposes of a fine for carrying objects that can be used as cold weapons openly or concealed in public places, in professional activities or in sports.
The criminal law also prohibits the illegal circulation of items prohibited for use as civilian and service weapons on the territory of Uzbekistan.
In addition, amendments and additions are made to Articles 3 and 9 of the Law "On Weapons". That is, a concept is introduced that provides for objects that can be used as edged weapons - industrial or homemade bladed, cutting objects (knives, pins and others with a sharpened edge, stabbing, cutting objects), objects that, when using physical force, can inflict harm (baseball bats, softball bats) intended for use in professional, industrial or sports activities or for household purposes.
