Over 50% of Uzbekistan’s population is ready for vaccination, study shows

The Republican Center for the Study of Public Opinion "Ijtimoiy Fikr" conducted a poll among Uzbek citizens and studied their opinions about vaccination against coronavirus. The survey was conducted anonymously by phone, and showed that more than half have a positive attitude to vaccination.

The survey involved residents of all regions of the country-men and women, young people and the elderly. 53.2% of the country's citizens confirmed their readiness to be vaccinated against COVID-19.

It turned out that citizens from young to old recognize that the vaccine is able to prevent the occurrence and spread of coronavirus infection among the population.

At the same time, more than a third of respondents, i.e.,36.5% reported that they refuse to get vaccinated, and every tenth participant has not yet made a final decision.

60.7% of surveyed men in the country said they were willing to get the Covid-19 jab, for women this indicator comprised 43.3%.

35.9% of citizens mentioned concern about possible side effects of the vaccine and medical contraindications, according to which they are forced to refuse vaccination in order to avoid severe adverse reactions.

34.2% of residents said they do not need vaccination and do not believe that they can catch COVID-19.

16% of citizens doubt that the vaccine will be able to properly protect against coronavirus, since the drugs have not passed sufficient studies and clinical trials that would confirm their safety and effectiveness.

8.6% of respondents consider vaccinations ineffective, they do not believe that existing coronavirus vaccines can reduce the risk of infection of the population and protect their life and health.
