The president signed a decree on improving the financing of public transport. Now, an online system will manage public transport in Tashkent. This was reported by the Ministry of Justice.
The document reorganises the system for accumulating fares and settlements with carriers. Special funds created for this purpose at transport departments are transferred to the regional departments of the Ministry of Justice, and in Karakalpakstan, to the relevant ministry. Groups will be formed to manage the funds. Until June 1, 2024, it is instructed to ensure the introduction of incentive tariffs for the use of electronic fare payment systems in public transport.
The introduction of a unified intelligent public transport management system is also planned. Its functions will include accounting for passenger flow, control over payment, drivers' work, the technical condition of transport, and the fixation of traffic violations on dedicated lanes.
